Salerno city is the gateway to enter in Amalfi coast, coming from southern Italy, Salerno despite having less population of the city of Naples, anch it offers various services of any kind for the tourists that want to visit, a beautiful historic center full of shops for shopping, and many sites of various interests, such as Arechi Castle. Get to the Amalfi coast from Salerno, for a sightseeing tour of the villages, as: Vietri sul mare, Cetara, Erchie, Maiori, Minori, Tramonti, Ravello, Amalfi, Praiano, Conca dei Marini, Furore, Positano. We have two alternative roads, and two different tours from each other.
The first route can be done in this way: we start from Salerno and crossing a short section of the city, we will take the motorway to Naples to Castellammare di Stabia, where we will begin a tour with a spectacular view, continue by car in the direction of Sorrento, we will begin to see on our right towards the Bay of Naples. we stop to take some pictures, just past Meta , a small village in the Sorrento Peninsula, take the state road called Positano Meta to get on the Amalfi Coast. The first stop will be in the village of Positano, where you will have the right time to visit, after we will continue along the road the Amalfi Drive, crossing Praiano, Fiordo di Furore and the Emerald cave, a unique setting, to get to Amalfi village, here your driver will recommend and will show you the things to see. After you continue driving to reach Marmorata, where you take the direction to Ravello, a village located almost 350 meters above sea level, it will be recommended a restaurant for lunch. and you will make a short visit to Ravello. After your visit, you will return to your location in Salerno, taking a different path, crossing a part of the Lattari Mountains, the green area of the Amalfi coast, when you are on top of the mountain , your driver will stop for another photo from the Valico di Chiunzi , located in the Municipality of Tramonti, where you can admire the Mount Vesuvius, a part of the city of Naples and a part of Salerno, and in good weather conditions, you will see the island of Ischia after you will come back to Salerno.
The alternative route that we can do to visit the Amalfi Coast, starting from Salerno, is to make the whole coast, from Vietri sul Mare to Positano, taking the road that connects all the villages of the Amalfi coast, the first stop will be in Maiori, in front of the restaurant Torre Normanna, where you can take a picture of part of the coast, with views of Maiori and Minori. Driving through the two villages, we come to Ravello, where you will have time to visit one of the ancient villas, Villa Rufolo, with its gardens and a beautiful view of the coast. after the first visit, we go to Amalfi, where you can visit the main square with its historic cathedral. After , together with your driver, you continue your tour to get to Positano, passing first through other seaside villages, like, : Praia di Praiano, and the Fiordo di Furore, and passing in front of some of the most renowned hotels of the Amalfi coast, such as,: Hotel Santa Caterina, Hotel Convento Di Amalfi, Hotel San Pietro di Positano. along the way your driver will make stop to take pictures when you arrive in Positano. you will have at your disposal the right time to walk around, get to the beach to see, and you will be recommended for lunch. At this point, your driver takes the road from Positano to the Sorrento Peninsula, and you will return back to Salerno on the highway from Castellammare di Stabia to Vietri sul Mare.
Both of the tours are made for visiting Positano, Amalfi and Ravello, the difference is:
- you have all day the sea on your right in tour number one
- the sea will be on your left in tour number two
