Facing the Sorrento peninsula, we find Capri one of the islands of the Gulf of Naples. The name Capri derives from the Greek Kàpros which means wild boar. In ancient times the island of Capri was connected to the Sorrento peninsula, but over the years a good part has been submerged by the sea and separated from the mainland. The island is jagged with numerous caves hidden under the cliffs, one of these caves and the most famous, is the Blue Grotto, which with its magical lighting effects has inspired many songwriters, poets and writers. The island has also been the stage for the cinema, many film films were made both in Capri, around the famous three rocky peaks positioned southeast of the island. The Faraglioni of Capri, famous all over the world for the suggestive view of the Gardens of Augustus.
