In the town of Monte Argentario in Tuscany, we find one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, PORTO ERCOLE, known tourist resort located in the province of Grosseto. Porto Ercole of Etruscan origins but later conquered by the Romans and transformed into a port. Porto Ercole is also characteristic for the events that take place every year, such as: La Notte dei Pirati, a historical reconstruction of a fact that actually happened, the International Music Festival with the name IL CIMA and the recurrence of the patron saint of Porto Ercole which is Sant Erasmo, who did the miracle of calming a storm. In Porto Ercole there are three ancient defensive balduari dating back to the Spanish era and are known as the Forts of Porto Ercole. Also Caravaggio was very close to this Italian village, where he died in 1610. The remains of the famous artist are found in Porto Ercole where he was found dying in the Natural Reserve Duna Feniglia, a reserve populated by many deer.
