Positano
Positano on the Amalfi coast, since Roman times it has been a holiday resort, also attested by the discovery of a Roman Villa. Positano is characterized by many stairs that from the upper part of the village lead down to the beaches, Fornillo and the Grande beach, in the medieval age between the Amalfi coast and the Sorrento coast many towers were built for the sighting of the Saracens. When the Saracens were sighted, with a shot of cannon the alarm was given among the various towers, in this way the Positanesi could take refuge in the mountains, and so were created the villages of Positano, Montepertuso and Nocelle, formerly connected to the center of Positano only through a long staircase.
